You thought it was about selling?
Network marketing is about personal growth and learning to understand people. You thought it was about how to sell products and the business opportunity? Well, that’s a small part of it but the biggest part is understanding people.
What makes other people tick and what makes us tick? Ever notice that other people can often see patterns in us that we can’t see in ourselves. What we are interested in. I’ve often noticed people who have been married several times pick people with the same personality traits because they are unconsciously picking what they are interested in or have ego issues this kind of personality soothes. They didn’t do a good job picking the last partner (serious jerk) but others see them going from a jail cell to a maximum security prison with the new partner. Note: You can’t tell them and they can’t see it. Going from a certain personality type to the same personality type on steroids.
For example, those interested in muscles and good looks might try picking someone with brains next time around. Someone who can say more than two words in response to a question and actually make good sense. Or, someone who uses their brain instead of muscle in response to situations they encounter.
From a Network Marketing perspective why do we notice the characteristics of the spouse or significant other? Because that “other person” will allow success or failure in the business. We all know people who love Network Marketing, and the company they have chosen as their vehicle, who have great difficulty overcoming their significant other. They come away from a major event pumped up and doing the business at a higher level than ever before and then something happens: The significant other begins wearing and dragging them down.
Beginning to understand people situations will help us go to the next level. Why? Because our success depends upon their success.
