Obnoxious Behavior

How do we overcome obnoxious behavior in other people?

We overcome their behavior by being polite and being kind (perhaps even putting ourselves in their place of discomfort).  Have we ever been obnoxious?

Have we ever listened intently to someone who wasn’t making sense or someone we really didn’t want to hear?  Why did we give them our undivided attention?  Probably because we didn’t want to be rude or show disrespect.  We can empathise with them because we’ve all been there when people disrespected us.  Walked away while we were talking to them, etc.

Sometimes the best gift we can give others is the attention they are seeking.  The attention they obviously and desperately need.  They may be making inappropriate statements, etc. because they need attention.

We may not be interested in what they say but we are interested in how they feel.  This practice incorporated into our life will help take us to the next level with people.

Give the gift of being present with other people.
