Connections

What is the secret to making connections?

The Brafman brothers have written a book called Click that is all about the magic of instant connections.

Many of us understand the “magic” of someone who we click with.  Eye contact and information flows.  Admittedly, much of this magic is chemical (dopamine) and the pleasure we derive from the company of those with whom we connect.  This connection can be instant and forever.

We connect with people when we can become “vulnerable” by taking our communication to a deeper level than the surface.

We connect with those people we are close to (for whatever reason) and have continual opportunity to interact.  For example, neighborhood friends.

We connect with people when we resonate with them by “paying close attention to what they say and do, their attitudes and their needs.”

We connect with people who are similar to us.  We are part of the same in group and don’t consider ourselves outsiders.  We “accentuate the similarities.”

We connect because of the environment and overcoming challenges and adversities together.

We connect with people magnets who understand relationships and people because they “instinctively modulate their emotions to match and meet others emotionally.”

We connect with those who take us to a higher level.  We are not only comfortable with these people but we can disagree and be open without being disagreeable.

These connections cause us to perform at a much higher level as a team.
