Getting to the good stuff.
If you read a lot you begin to notice patterns or approaches in various disciplines. For example, I like to read various psychology and communication books.
The book always seems to begin with going through the various parts of the brain and the evolution of the brain. This may be important and interesting stuff to the author but after you’ve read several books this is very boring and meaningless stuff. How many chapters do we have to read to get to something relevant? As an author, hasn’t it ever occurred to you to be relevant to your readers? Who doesn’t know about flight or fight, etc.? Isn’t this information (101-ish) in 2011?
Some people are thinking: Is this book going to be worth reading if this is what I have to wade through? It get’s us back to the business of selling and Network Marketing. Asking questions and starting at points of interest to the customer.
For example, would you go over your sports performance products if the customer sets on the couch and never goes to the gym? Why would you do that? What are “they” interested in?
Even if we are writing a book (one way communication) we can consider being relevant to a broad audience. Why did they pick up your book? Why don’t you title the book to attract people interested in “The Evolution of The Brain…?”
