How do you get people “serious” about MLM?
A lot of people don’t take Network Marketing seriously until you are “exceeding” their expectations. They may be thinking in terms of $200 per month extra income and suddenly they are making $2,000 per month extra income. Please notice that I said: “Exceeding Their Expectations” not yours.
My wife has a story about her first Network Marketing endeavor where she told a sister that she was her top recruit. Her sister wasn’t too impressed with that statement because she realized she wasn’t making a lot (producing a lot) herself. She evaluated my wife’s success based on her lack of success. Get the picture. Even though her sister may have realized that it’s a lot of people taking a little bit of product she didn’t get the big picture because of her own circumstances.
I get amused at a relative that keeps comparing MLM to a pots and pans salesperson because he did that once and it obviously wasn’t a good experience (probably an ego issue). Network Marketing people are in direct sales but their “compensation plan” is not even remotely the same, and their mindset is anything but a salesperson’s mindset. A salesperson’s mindset is 1 +1 =2 but an MLM mindset is 2 x 2 = 4. They think in terms of addition and you think in terms of multiplication.
You are sponsoring two people, just like the salesperson is selling two people, but you are getting paid on the efforts (sales) of four people because you taught your two people to do what you are doing (sponsoring and teaching). We call this duplication and you get seriously paid to duplicate or multiply (not add).
Next, the person you sponsor suddenly finds out: “This thing is exponential!”
Not only is the growth based on multiplication but it is also exponential if you are with the right company. A few companies try to take the “exponential” part out of sales (compensation) because they are “Extremely short-sighted!” Why are they short-sighted (trying to avoid the word stupid)? Because the Distributor now realizes that they have to go out and sponsor the world instead of teach and train the two business builders they sponsored into the business. They still only sponsored two people but what are these two business builders doing? Let’s take a look :
| Blueprint Level | Business Builders | Ideal Pay Percent |
| 1 | 2 | 14% |
| 2 | 4 | 29% |
| 3 | 8 | 57% |
| Total | 14 | 100% |
How many people did you sponsor? TWO!
Now, let’s add just “One More” direct sponsor that pays us on (39) business builders instead of (14). This is excluding retail and wholesale customers, etc. This “3 leg Blueprint” consistently pays our Distributors (published by company) on average about $40,000 per year.
This is how to get people serious about the business!
